Welfare
Department, Government of Jharkhand is executing a four year
project on Lac Development for the tribal beneficiaries of
Jharkhand state. This project aims to insure lac crop for
about 20000 lac growers, who have been trained through Indian
Institute of Natural Resin and Gums, Namkum (formely ILRI) in
scientific methods of lac cultivation. The areas of operation
are Garhwa, Gumla, Hazaribag
(including Ramgarh), Latehar, Palamau, Ranchi (including
Khunti), Saraikela –Kharsawan, Simdega and West Singhbhum districts.
Insurance companies interested in providing Crop Insurance to
the lac crop growers may submit their technical and financial
proposals to the following address
