Application are invited for filling the post of Director, Ranchi Institute of Neuro Psychiatry & Allied Sciences (RINPAS), Kanke, Ranchi an autonomous Institution, Under Govt. of Jharkhand. This Institution is being developed into A Modern Treatment cum Teaching and Research Institution for Mental Health.

(1)              The Director of the Institute will be Chief Executive of the Institution and will be responsible for its management along with preparation and execution of the Development Plans. He will report to the Management committee of this Institution, of which he will be the Member Secretary. He would also report to the Secretary, Department of Health Medical Education & Family Welfare, Govt. of Jharkhand.

(2)              The incumbent to the post must have thorough understanding and wide experience in the field of mental health related areas. He should also possess strong administrative capability.

(3)              The academic criteria for selection of Director will be as under:

(i)                A person of eminence in the field of Mental Health teaching and research having at least MBBS Degree with Post Graduate in Psychiatry.

(ii)             Must be having experience of holding analogous post, or

Must have worked minimum two years in the scale of Rs. 22400-24400 in teaching post, or

Minimum five years experience in the scale of Rs. 18400-22400 in teaching post, or

Minimum 8 years experience in the pay Scale of Rs. 16400-20000 in teaching  post.

(iii)           Must have served at least eight years as Head of Department out of which five years as Professor in some National/State level teaching or research mental health institute with at least 500 bedded psychiatric Hospital

(iv)            Must have wide experience of being involved in socio-vocational rehabilitation of the individuals with mental health problems.

(v)               Preferably have the experience of working/holding administrative/ research post/representing the national/international organizations/NGO/in the capacity of consultant/advisor/evaluator/member/coordinator.

(vi)            Preferably have the experience of working/representing the national/international organizations

(4)              This post will be term appointment for five years

(5)              The ideal candidate would be in the age group of 45 to 55 years as on 01-09-2008 however for specially qualified and experienced candidate’s age limit can be relaxed.

(6)              The post carries the pay scale of Rs. 26000/- besides pay he will be entitled to dearness allowance and other allowances as per rules. The post being non-practicing selected candidate will be entitled to non-practicing allowance as applicable at Central Govt. rates. Leave travel concession and medical facilities will also be provided as per Govt. Rules. Rent free accommodation near the institution campus will also be provided.

(7)              In the event of selection of an officer working in central or in State Govt. he would be allowed to maintain his lien in his/her parent organization for a maximum of three years.
